Pressure Sensors

Pressure sensors are normally placed under the carpets or mats so that when adequate amount of pressure is exerted anywhere on the mat e.g. when anyone steps on it, the sensor make electrical contact to give an alarm. Pressure mats are available as individual mats which are typically used for protecting entrances or steps. These can be used as proximity detectors to detect anyone approaching valuable objects and they can also be used as entry detectors to protect entrances leading to areas requiring protection. These can provide highly reliable protection. Allowances can be made for pet animals to pass through without raising an alarm.

Like any other sensors, these also need to be connected to Control Unit to activate the alarm.
